Booking a house for twelve usually means a compromise: someone on a sofa bed, one bathroom too few, a kitchen nobody can cook in together. This is not that house. Six proper bedrooms, three bathrooms upstairs, and a kitchen table long enough that nobody eats standing up.
Guests tell us, more or less every year, that the house turned out larger and more beautiful than they were expecting. We would rather it that way round.

What you will find here
The House
Six bedrooms across two floors, three bathrooms, and leather Chesterfields under old beams. Every room photographed, so you can work out who sleeps where before you book.
Pool & Garden
A 12m x 6m pool, fenced with a child gate and alarms. Beside it an open stone barn with table tennis and shaded dining for twelve, then walled lawns and fruit trees beyond.
The Setting
Nine medieval towns within half an hour, three markets a week, a river to swim and paddle, and so little light pollution you can watch shooting stars from the barn.
What is included, and what is not
We would rather tell you the extras up front than have you find them at checkout. There are two: a cleaning charge of €150, and a refundable security deposit of 20% of the rental, returned within a week of your departure.
Everything else is included. Bed linen and towels, at no extra charge. A cot and a high chair, if you tell us you need them. And the pool, which is yours alone, not shared with another party. Weeks run Saturday to Saturday and the house is yours from 4pm.

Andrew and Diana rebuilt this house from a ruin and finished it in 2013. They live about five hundred metres away, which means there is always someone nearby if a shutter sticks or you cannot find the corkscrew, and nobody at all if you would rather be left alone.
